“What is it about Wales and rock talent? Jylt is a four piece hailing from the west of that country. Nia and Sarah formed their first band together at age 10 recruiting Alex and Tim from school a few years later. They’ve been together nearly 10 years so their sound is pretty well honed. They’ve been attracting a lot of attention in Wales over the last year, and have recently worked with “Gorkys” and “Big Leaves”

"They debuted on the Radio 1 Evening session and toured 15 UK universities courtesy of Student123. Their fan base was growing rapidly and just before performing at Glastonbury - where they played seven gigs - Leeds-based music label Uglyman signed the band."

“Two girls and two boys and all from Milford Haven, used to be known as Epik and have already got a record out that has had 100,000 copies pressed! Have you not heard of them already? Well you might soon if you are student as they’ve just won a competition to have a song put out on CD that goes out to loads of universities as part of induction week. If you are not spending the next three years of your life drinking and borrowing money off your parents then check Jylt out“.

| “Untapped" gets off to a cracking start with Jylt and “Butterflies” which is reminiscent of Echobelly, and is punky and edgy but tuneful at the same time. A great song to gear you up for going out”.

'With music of this raw quality it shouldn't be too long before the name Jylt rolls off the tongue as easily as Catatonia or the Manics.'
Angeline Campbell, Scottish Music Press

| "Jylt was named BURBs Artist of the month. Music experts were fulsome in their praise - '...when they got it right, it was SO right that it made the hairs stand up on the back of yer neck...' and '...talented, great to look at and some great songs.'

| GIG REVIEW |
We put on a gig . Here at the BURBS we don’t do much of that but in this case the big bonus of the night was Jylt, from Milford Haven. Jylt have been touring of late, a fairly gruelling schedule of Student Unions, and if tonight’s performance was anything to go by, the experience has definitely agreed with them.
Jylt offer a powerful brand of intelligent rock, with a funky edge and lots of light and shade. The instrumental dynamics are provided largely by inspirational imp-child ( or leaping leprechaun) Alex Cooper on guitar, ably abetted by Tim Ramsey, who is one of those drummers who knows exactly what he is doing and does it.
The interaction of the lads was matched in spades by the girls. Here we have Nia George, with hair to die for and a wide wide grin when the audience starts to sing along to “Retrospect”, laying down a solid bass line and exchanging lead vocals with Sarah Howells, the little girl with a big guitar who manages to combine rhythmic power with delicate understatement and superbly accurate live voice which you don’t often hear on stage, even at the top of the tree. And the harmonies (forgive me) are like the fall of angels.
The music alone should be enough to get them onto the books of some record company not too timid to dip its toes into rock - infested waters. When you add to that that Jylt are also a marketing man’s dream, I cant see how they can fail! We hope to get to work with this band before they hit the stratosphere!!”
